Our History
1982
The Au Premier adventure begins in 1982, fueled by Dorys Bélanger‘s passion for hairdressing. He opens the salon at the corner of Monkland and Oxford with a team of ten young professionals, laying the first stones of a remarkable journey.
2000
Over the years, Au Premier grows and flourishes. The salon moves to the corner of Monkland and Girouard Avenues, offering a larger and more welcoming space with new services such as aesthetics and massage therapy.
2002
Longtime collaborator Silvana Melfi joins the adventure as a partner and implements a continuing education program for the team, demonstrating the importance placed on talent development.
2004
Driven by the desire to offer an even more comprehensive experience, Au Premier expands its spa by adding a second floor and creates its own Academy, a place dedicated to the learning and development of hairdressers.
2014
Innovation is at the heart of the salon’s DNA, which continues to evolve by offering new services and adopting the latest technologies. The ground floor undergoes a major renovation. The development of a medical-grade sterilization center and the introduction of laser aesthetic treatments demonstrate this commitment to innovation.
2018
Au Premier celebrates its 35th anniversary!
2021
To meet the growing demand for high-quality beauty products, Au Premier sets up a pop-up shop featuring an exclusive selection of renowned brands. The introduction of new product lines such as Davines and Kevin Murphy, known for their commitment to sustainability and innovation, allows the salon to offer its customers even more diverse and environmentally friendly options.
2022
A new era begins for Au Premier with the arrival of Pietro D’Aquila as owner. With his experience and vision, he intends to continue the salon’s tradition of excellence while adding his personal touch. Silvana Melfi, an iconic figure at Au Premier, remains a partner and continues to play a key role in the company’s success.

Today, with 75 professionals, a full range of services, and an area of 7,500 square feet, Au Premier is proud of its journey.
