Our health commitment

To our employees and our customers

Health commitment

The Au Premier Coiffure Team has been meeting and surpassing health and safety standards since opening its doors in 1998. Our goal has always been to provide our customers with high-quality, safe and hygienic beauty treatments.

Now, more than ever, we are committed to maintaining and strengthening the trust between our employees and valued customers by acting responsibly and complying with the new requirements imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Au Premier Team will be following the lead of government authorities and taking all of the appropriate measures to meet new standards.

New measures and systems have been put in place to meet government standards related to COVID-19

TEMPORARY CHANGES TO SALON AND SPA HOURS

  • We have extended our salon and spa hours to spread out customer traffic;
  • We have staggered the morning and evening shifts to better control customer traffic;

OUR EMPLOYEES

Since opening in 2000, all SPA employees are required to wear a fresh, clean uniform every day. It is standard procedure for our manicurists to wear a mask and gloves when providing services. Our estheticians also regularly wear safety goggles when providing certain types of services.

  • To protect the safety of our employees and customers, some SPA technicians will be required to wear a protective mask or visor when providing certain types of services;
  • All employees will be required to comply with the social distancing and safety measures established by the provincial government at all times;
  • All Au Premier employees will be required to be BARBICIDE® certified.

ARRIVAL

  • All customers will be asked a series of health screening questions upon arrival;
  • All customers will have access to hand washing and sanitizing stations;
  • Disposable masks will be available to customers who don’t bring their own;
  • All customers will be given directions to ensure proper social distancing and traffic flow.

RECEPTION DESK : SALON AND SPA

  • Plexiglass barriers have been installed at the reception desks;
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at every workstation;
  • Plastic covers have been placed on all payment terminals to make disinfecting in between each customer safer and more effective;
  • Cashless or no-contact payment methods must be used whenever possible.

HAIRDRESSING

  • Workstations have been reconfigured to ensure that they are two metres apart;
  • UV sterilizers have been placed at all hairdressing and colouring stations to disinfect brushes and small tools;
  • Combs, scissors and clippers will be sterilized between each customer;
  • Plexiglass barriers have been installed between each shampoo station (sinks);
  • Preventative action signage has been placed around the facility to remind customers of the social distancing (stay two metres apart) and safety measures currently in place;
  • All workstations will be disinfected between each customer using a medical-grade cleaner;
  • Disposable spatulas will be used to apply shared products.

MAKE-UP COUNTER

Since the day we first opened, we have been thoroughly sterilizing all of our tools and brushes. Many of the applicators we use, including those used to apply mascara and lipstick, are single use. Demo products are only handled and applied by our makeup artists—customers are not allowed to touch any of the products and must ask for assistance from one of our employees.

In addition to the measures currently in place, we are taking extra steps to ensure the safety of our customers and employees:

  • Workstations have been reconfigured to comply with social distancing measures;
  • UV sterilizers will be used to disinfect brushes and small tools;
  • All employees will be required to wear safety goggles or visors when providing services;
  • All workstations will be disinfected between each customer using a medical-grade cleaner.

2nd FLOOR: SPA AND MANICURE-PEDICURE

We have installed Plexiglass barriers between each pedicure station. Since SPA first opened in 1998, we have been using a three (3) step protocol to clean our non-disposable work tools: cleaning, disinfecting (spraying or immersion) and sterilizing. The protocol is as follows:

Cleaning : we clean all of our tools with soap and water to remove any organic and inorganic matter. However, this procedure does not kill any microorganisms;

Disinfecting : we use BARBICIDE® disinfectant and CS20 to sterilize tools and workstations, including chairs and furniture;

  • HLD : high-level disinfectant. Spectrum: bactericide, virucide, fungicide, sporicide and mycobactericide.

Sterilizing : we use moist heat sterilization (autoclave) to ensure that all of our tools are free of any microorganisms. We also ensure that all sterilized tools are kept in single-use packaging.

In addition to the measures currently in place, we are taking extra steps to ensure the safety of our customers and employees:

  • Manicure tables: all workstations have been reconfigured to ensure that they are two metres apart;
  • To protect the safety of our employees and customers, some SPA technicians will be required to wear a protective mask or visor when providing certain types of services.

We are excited to welcome you back and safely provide you with the beauty treatments that you need.
